| | after a whole year deprived of the Royal Ballet, I watched the gala performance of Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg in Hong Kong; three nights in a row.
two days have passed, and I really, really do, miss them...
is this weird? to be so attached to ballet, the ballet company, the dancers
I almost cried with all the emotions which flowed out when I first saw the pair stepped out onto the stage; here they were, the star couple which I have watched for 3 years; from my beloved company; finally making their debut in Hong Kong
after the second performance I was able to meet Alina and Johan in person; I gave them my greetings and wished Alina to recover speedily; she smiled and said thank you. I was ecstatic!
But... we are not friends, not even acquaintance? why the emotion?
I guess there forms a special relationship or some kind of attachment as the audience watches the artistic performance. one feels immersed into the world of the artists. one feels connected to them. one cares about their well being. one wants to thank them for giving their all to the performance, physically, emotionally, artistically.
it is impossible to become any closer to an artist you admire; unless by fortune you somehow can become friends from random circumstances... however i just will settle with giving my heartfelt thanks to these incredible artists in this blog
THANK YOU VERY MUCH Alina and Johan. =)
